During my first semester, one of the most impactful parts of my journey was studying programming under Dr. Bilal. He was not just focused on completing the syllabus; his main goal was to develop us into professional engineers. From the very beginning, he maintained high standards and expected serious effort from every student. He assigned practical and advanced projects that were far beyond simple classroom exercises. Some of our seniors had not worked on such projects because they were not taught by him, which made our learning experience unique but also much more demanding. His assessment pattern was also different. He designed mid exams out of 40 marks instead of the usual 30 so that most topics could be properly covered. This increased the academic burden and required continuous preparation throughout the semester. At times, the pressure felt overwhelming, especially for someone like me who had shifted from a medical background into engineering. However, this strict and professional approach gradually improved my technical skills, discipline, and confidence. In the end, I realized that this pressure was not meant to discourage us, but to prepare us for real-world engineering challenges and a more professional future.
